    Find of a lifetime...

I got permission to hunt a colonial property recently (circa 1680's). I found a number of different artifacts, but the one that really stands out above all ... 1791 George Washington Large Eagle Cent. I didn't even know this coin existed!! When I got home I did a lot a research and found out that there were only 2,500 of these made, along with 1,500 Small Eagle Cents. These coins were never really circulated to the public. They were made by a company in England who were looking to get a contract to make coins for the United States. They never got the contract approved by Continental Congress because President Washington did not want his portrait on any coins because he was not a King and he wanted to establish a mint of our own here in the U.S. This coin is without a doubt the most historical coin I've ever found! Still on the hunt for any Tree coin...I'm determined to find one in 2017.
